Los Tucanes de Tijuana is a Mexican band founded on 13 April 1987 by Mario Quintero Lara and a group of talented friends in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. From humble beginnings, starting their musical career by playing at nightclubs they rose to become the most successful and sought after Norteño band in Mexico, Latin America and the United States.They are by far the global ambassadors of Norteña music and Corrido ballads. Los Tucanes sing romantic songs that captivate the hearts of fans who fall in love with their songs. They also sing controversial corridos that, although they contain strong songs, Los Tucanes always try to send a positive message to their fans. Los Tucanes have sold more than five million records in the United States and Latin America. Los Tucanes have managed to be in well-known magazines such as “Los Angeles Times”. They have obtained a gold record in Chile.
